Like any animal raised in captivity, hatchery-raised flounder are at a disadvantage when released into their natural habitat. We are focused on the development of tools to enhance the survival of cultured flounder in the wild—from the selection and conditioning of fish in the hatchery to the development and evaluation of optimal release strategies.
