On August 20, 2003, NOAA administrator and Undersecretary of Commerce for Oceans and Atmosphere ,Vice Admiral Conrad Lautenbacher, traveled to the University of New Hampshire to recognize its recent initiation as a top-tier Sea Grant College. Admiral Lautenbacher presented UNH president Ann Weaver Hart with a plaque commemorating the event. Featured at the reception were mussels harvested from OOA's demonstration project.
